Meet and Greet Consultation

Upon our initial consultation, we will dedicate time to delve into the factors prompting your decision to pursue therapy, encompassing physical and mental health considerations and obtaining pertinent background information. Our dialogue will revolve around your objectives and anticipated outcomes from psychotherapy, with our approach tailored to your specific requirements. Your comfort and trust in the therapeutic process are of utmost importance. Should there be any indications that our therapist may not be the optimal match for your needs, we will facilitate referrals to alternative professionals who may be better suited to address your concerns. Furthermore, you retain the right to articulate any apprehensions or preferences regarding your therapist, and we are committed to honouring and accommodating your requests to ensure you receive the requisite support.

Duration and frequency of sessions

Our standard practice involves scheduling weekly sessions with clients, each lasting 50 minutes, to ensure consistent progress in therapy. Nevertheless, we remain flexible and open to accommodating individual needs and preferences. Depending on your schedule and the specific treatment requirements, we may adjust the frequency of sessions or consider extended session durations as warranted. The treatment plan, encompassing session frequency and duration, will be thoroughly discussed during our initial consultation, and we will revisit it as necessary throughout the therapy process. A regular day and time for sessions can establish a structured routine and aid progress. While regular attendance is vital for effective therapy, we acknowledge the unpredictability of life. We are prepared to collaborate with you to find suitable solutions when regular sessions are not feasible.


Private Health Insurance

We advise contacting your workplace insurance provider to clarify the specific coverage included in your plan. Our practice accepts insurance from reputable companies such as Blue Cross, Great-West Life, Manulife, and SunLife. Additionally, we offer direct billing services with Canada Life, Blue Cross, and Green Shield for your convenience. A comprehensive understanding of your insurance coverage details can streamline the billing process and enable you to optimize the benefits available for therapy services. Should you require any assistance or clarification regarding your coverage, please contact your insurance provider or us. We aim to assist you in navigating the insurance process and ensure you receive the necessary care.​

Fees for Service 

Please be advised that psychotherapy services are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) unless administered by a psychiatrist or a general practitioner MD conducting psychotherapy. Our clinic's rates are consistent with the current mid-range in Toronto. During the intake interview, your therapist will discuss the fees with you and notify you of any changes to the agreed-upon fee. We are committed to providing affordable psychotherapy services to our clients. However, please note that HST applies to these services as they are not classified as medical expenses. Don't hesitate to contact us for clarification and assistance if you have any inquiries or concerns regarding the fees or billing.


How to Pay

Payment for counselling and mental health services is due after each session, and a receipt will be furnished upon receipt. Retaining this receipt for potential insurance claims or tax purposes is advisable, if applicable. If you intend to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider, submitting your receipt after each session is recommended. Payment can be rendered using cash, credit card, debit card, e-transfer, or check at the end of your session, with a receipt issued then. Our objective is to ensure the payment process is convenient and transparent for our clients, and we are available to address any inquiries or issues regarding payment methods or receipts.
